Downtown Morehead is the culture, entertainment, and dining hub of the Crystal Coast-luckily, Sugarloaf Deli and Yellowfin Pub is right in the heart of it. Located on Evans Street, directly in front of the main strip, our waterfront restaurant Morehead NC sits sandwiched between Arendell Street. Whether you’re sitting topside upstairs or out back on our docks, you’re always guaranteed dinner and a show. Here are some of the sights you may see, besides our sensational seafood and sandwiches summer!
This year marks the 64th annual Big Rock Tournament, one of the largest and oldest fishing tournaments in the world. This nearly month-long event starts on June 10th and continues until the finale on the 19th-so you’ve got plenty of time to come and take a peek at the action. Some of the bigger events you’ll want to plan for include kickoff and weigh-ins at Big Rock Landing, just a four-minute walk from our pub. Weigh-ins are televised, so if you’d rather skip the heat and crowds, our waterfront restaurant Morehead NC will have the event playing on our in-house screens. This tournament is known to bring in some big-name participants, like Michael Jordan, so make sure to have your eyes peeled around the pub in July. You might just be eating crab legs with celebrities!
As you may have guessed, this small island across from our waterfront restaurant Morehead NC is where we nabbed our namesake. Just 47 acres long, this tiny terrain is completely uninhabited, allowing wildlife to flourish. Although Beaufort may have Carrot Island and their wild horses, wildlife, especially birds and dolphins, around the island is plentiful. When you dine at Sugarloaf Deli and Yellowfin Pub seafood restaurant NC, you’ll need to bring both your appetite and your binoculars!
With a nearly 300-year long written history, downtown Morehead is teeming with historical sites. Local attractions like Big Rock Baseball Stadium and the History Museum of Carteret County, lovingly dubbed “The History Place,” are just a few minutes’ walk away from our doors. You’ll also find art installations like the Fish Walk, a trail leading you past our seafood restaurant with unique fish statues, and plenty of live music events. In July, be sure to stop at our waterfront restaurant Morehead City NC for food, drinks, and a spectacular view of the Morehead City fireworks-shot off directly across from the pub on Sugarloaf Island.
Whether you’re looking for a prime seat to all the action of a tournament, need to take a load off after a round of downtown exploring, or just looking to people-watch, our waterfront restaurant Morehead NC is your downtown Morehead delicatessen.
